What customers say?

“ This resturant is a true diamond hidden in the flat land surrounding the city of Ferrara. Here I got a wonderful and unforgettable eating experience . I enjoyed almost everything from cooked land snail in butter and garlic, the fryed little shrimp and squid and the the woderfully cooked and served roasted cuttlefish in its black ink (a true piece of butter) As a dessert the sorbet made from "uva fragola" grapes was true surprise. This resturant is family owned and led from decades with a simple and friendly touch. Prices are above the average, but by far inferior for resturant of the same quality. Will come back for shure. ”

“ Nice, family owned restaurant with French style food. Great. ”

- Richárd Csengeri -

“ Sunday lunch with my dad, who loves eel, and I'd say the Ferrara lowlands are the best... among the many (that I'll visit), I chose Athos, who runs the family inn with his father, Ido. Where tradition and local ingredients are found on the plate, with strong French influences and a lot of humility. We ate wonderfully... the end of the recession! . The Appetizers: Eel terrine with raspberry-infused onion, Taggiasca olive and caper pesto, and eel liver pâté—I loved it! Cod fritters with potato and hazelnut mousse, and a gift from the chef: Guinea fowl liver pâté, brioche bread, and hazelnuts... and the engines are warming up, but it's already a winner! Would you like to try the legendary Risotto with Frogs? I loved finding the boneless legs, the rice cooked perfectly... so delicate, a caress on the palate. Second courses: Snail, pumpkin, porcini mushroom flan, and parmesan zabaglione, while you eat it, sweet and savory, and earth play with every bite. Baked eel slices, fresh radicchio, and onion ash, and may tradition be with us, the father and husband mopped up the plate with white polenta... What can I say, ending with a bang! Lunch was accompanied by a young Poully Fumè, perfect with every dish, and the dessert was mini rice cakes and tenerina with Pedro Ximénez from '99. The dining room and team were perfect, thank you all, ”

“ Really top quality and top friendly service. Idk the owner is a superstar. Escargot are amazing and delicious. Risotto con le rane una chicca. Wine selection huge ”

- Piero Pracchi -

“ A great restaurant. Worth the trip because Athos is one of the best chefs, and still underrated for his talent. The wine cellar is beautiful. Go there. ”

- Giuseppe Alde -

“ Elegant, well-kept place, good risotto with frogs, excellent veal tonne, nice wine list, excellent value for money ”

- Mauro Modro -

“ Every time you return, you always feel pampered in the best possible way... dishes with authentic and refined flavors, a welcoming and balanced atmosphere, attentive yet discreet service... Ido and his son, the chef, with simple and genuine gestures manage to convey the passion with which they have run the restaurant for years... it's an experience not to be missed! You leave already wanting to return!... excellent snails in various presentations, fried frogs, gratin cocotte, and finally an iconic signature dish: caramelized parmesan cream paired with celery ice cream and other surprises... oh, I almost forgot our best friend: a nice glass of Don Pedro!!! Congratulations... a truly unique place... see you next time... hopefully soon ”

- Elisabetta Prati -

“ Particular and good food with excellent service and it's not the first time we came here. There's also a tasting menu if you don't know what to order. We ordered starter, first course, second course, and dessert are all great!!! ”
